The search is now to find the ‘Cheshire Accounting Professional of the Year 2009’

After a very difficult 2009 for most businesses, with money having been tighter than ever, we felt it was very important, that the efforts of the individuals in Finance teams across the county, were recognised.

Accounting staff have had a harder job than ever in ‘balancing the books’, so why don’t you acknowledge this effort by nominating someone for the award.

A-PLANT’S HARVINDER AZAD VOTED TOP WARRINGTON ACCOUNTANT 


Harvinder Azad, UK Financial Controller at A-Plant’s Birchwood head office who is in charge of a team of 70 finance staff servicing 30,000 customers with plant, tools and specialist equipment has been awarded Adele Carr Financial Recruitment Accounting Professional of the Year 2008.

The judging panel of Andrew Brown, Director of ACFR, Steven Broomhead CEO of NWDA and Dave Hutchinson, Director of Commercial Development at Warrington Wolves were impressed with the positive impact  Harvinder has personally demonstrated in introducing commercial accounts functions for each division of the business , rationalising the supplier base and using IT to create massive improvements in payroll administration and credit control leading to improved profits and cash flow for A-Plant.

Asif Latief, Marketing Director of A-Plant commented, “Since he joined A-Plant in 2004, Harvinder has transformed the financial management and reporting of the business and played an instrumental role in maintaining the financial confidence of the group.”

Three new offices, three new team members and a new three year shirt sponsorship deal with Warrington Wolves are the latest developments at north- west financial recruitment agency Adele Carr Financial Recruitment.


Expansion from £1m to £2m turnover has seen the need for the business to take a larger space at its head office in St James’s Court Wilderspool Causeway, Warrington. The Chester office is moving from Regus to larger premises at Chantry Court off Sealand Road and a new Wigan office at Market Street, Hindley also opens. All changes effective 1 August 2008.

In order to cope with the expansion Adele Carr Financial Recruitment has recruited Neil Barber Smith as Senior Manager, Paula Kennedy as temporary recruitment controller and Alicia Little as administrator.

Man U fan Neil who enjoys playing golf and squash joins after 11 years at a national agency and will take over the junior industry desk in Warrington vacated by Helen Berry who is opening the new Wigan office. Saints fan Paula who is getting married in December also joins from a national agency.

The firm has also put pen to paper on a new three year package with Warrington Wolves which will see it as shirt sponsor as well as individual sponsor of two players currently Ben Harrison and Chris Riley and pitch side advertising.

Thursday 22nd May 2008 saw the annual charity quiz of Adele Carr Financial Recruitment and what a night it was. Clients poured through the doors eager to win the 1st prize – a £100 meal voucher for Tom @ 101’s.
 
Over 100 clients from the Warrington area attended with highlights of the night including the auction, raffle and of course the quiz. Winners of the night were ‘Norfolk N Good’ (City Dispense) and Isoft.

The night proved to be an excellent success with over £700 being raised for our allocated charities – The Foundation and The Association for Glycogen Storage Disease.

CHESTER NEXT FOR AWARD WINNING MUM OF THREE

Warrington based Adele Carr Financial Recruitment scooped the start up business of the year at the Warrington Business Awards on Friday evening in a glittering dinner held at the Park Royal Hotel, Stretton.
 
Incorporated in January 2006, mum of three, 37 year old chartered accountant Adele Carr has grown the recruitment agency who place accountancy staff to a team of 10 by providing a more personal consultative service to clients and candidates. The firm has built some strong links with the local community through sponsorship of Warrington Wolves and other local events and also provides flexible working arrangements for its own team.
 
The firm is not standing still and opens a Chester office in August and expects to open further offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston in the next few years.
